Need support? help me first!

I am in need of your suggestion and recommendation for our support forum. Honestly, i have lots of comments and emails asking for theme support which i did not approve and reply due to a simple reasons “i don’t like to use comments system for support” and “i don’t like sending same reply in same question”, so, i need your suggestion and recommendation of a good forum board and styles or templates of it to be use on our theme support. As for the style, i want it to be simple.

Also, obscure and newspress will be upgraded to version 2 which is compatible with wordpress 3.0 and supports most of its new features such as menu management, custom backgrounds, etc. And unfortunately, upon releasing the of obscure and newspress version 2, all other themes will be pull out in downloads and support prior for upgrade.

So for support? help me on this first. Thank you.

It’s not a terribly active project, and it doesn’t have the full range of features of some forum boards, but I have used BBPress with great success.

If you’re after a straightforward, easy to use, no maintenance forum, then have a look.

Well, bbpress is fully integrated plugin for wordpress 3.0 now. Many sites use it to support forums

I’ve also had a play with SMF (Simple Machines Forum)…looks like a pretty good solution, and IMHO better than phBB.

It will give you the extra features you’re after (like PM etc).

well i agree on SMF a good forum board, but, what my issue on smf is the theme which i can not find a suitable one for the site. Do you have a recommendation for its theme or style?

I have used PhpBB for some years together with WordPress with the purpose you describe and it works truly great! With uploading ,pm and other features.

When can we expect the new updated 2.0 themes to come out?? :)

I think youre themes are great, just some minor issues, that might get fixed with the new versions, so Im eager for the release :)

phpbb is currently my choice but still waiting for recommendation especially for its style or theme.

obscure version 2 is almost done but still polishing newspress version 2, so expect both themes to be release next month or sooner.

Regarding the theme, well, there are a few out there, I think its hard to recommend something since its so personal.

Good news regarding Newspress & Obscure! Would really like to see that one could chhange header pictures, and maybe background color etc. Looking forward to them, and, rather sooner than later :D

thank you all for the comments and email recommendation and suggestion regarding the subject.

site support forum will be using phpbb with the minimal style as its theme. expect it to be working online on Sunday or later along with the version 2 of Newspress and Obscure and yeah its supports most of the wp3 features such as custom menu, backgrounds, etc.

Are support forums down? Love the theme, but having problems getting the ad code to work – just comes up blank no matter if I paste the embed code, or short code (straight from Google, or using ad plug ins).
    Help?
