Who says i’m not listening to all the bugs complain? and not reading all the bugs report mail? Well here’s my answer
Today, I’m proud to announce to you the version 1.2 release of one of my popular themes – OBSCURE. It’s been a months since i promised to update my themes but not able to do so that soon as i’m super busy with my job and life as well ( same reason for late replying support email and comments :] ) so please chill and patiently wait for theme updates as it will be really coming. Well moving on with the announcement, below are what the update covers:
- major changed of core structure ( now build in 960 grid system )
- revamp typography of the theme
- compatible with latest wordpress version
- threaded comment support
- wordpress v2.9 post thumbnail support
- page and category menu are now both nested and ready for dropdown effect
- clean code and mark-up
On a side note, please ensure that you check this tutorial before using my the theme or if you are having difficulty of generating the thumbnail before asking for support. Also, i added a poll question of “Which theme should be updated next?” in sidebar, make sure to vote if you have a particular theme of mine that you want to be updated next. kanpai!

awesome! thank you for providing this theme. question – what is the font used in the logo?
sorry mate i forgot what font i used in the logo as i just played some typo in photoshop then poof! the logo created :]
you will surely find the font at dafont.com
Fucking awesome theme.I love your work and looking forward to your new wordpress theme.
I just installed it but it seems that the quality of the slideshow picture is very low on my WP compared to yours… Some settings I missed?
either your image is way to large which makes it look low when resized or probably your server end makes that.
hi mate,
Just updated the them but can’t seem to find the logo upload feature. In previous version it was in ‘obscure settings’- has this feature been replaces?
thanks
yes totally forgot that. thank you for pointing it out. will include that on the next major update next week
Awesome theme dude. It has a converted version in Blogger which is pretty old. Can you please convert this version to blogger. Please…………………..
sorry john i don’t do blogger template, however, you may contact the person who converted the old version of obscure to convert the new version

Hi there,
I followed that tutorial, and my thumbnail generation still is not working. Any other ideas?
do you have the cache folder inside theme files? would mine putting your site url so i can check
Yes, cache is in the theme files. I did some more testing and it works fine on new posts, but when I go back to edit old posts and add the image, it doesn’t work.
The website is: http://www.21stcenturycollaborative.com/wp/
it is because your using images from your typad, it must be uploaded in your wordpress.
Thanks, I tried pasting a thumbnail path in the custom field but I guess both images need to be the same? I will go back and replace those, thanks.
Hi.
I want to know, if its possible, how to add the funtction “Read more” or “Read the rest of the article”? So instead of clicking the title of the post, readers would click on that link.
I’m not a coder expert, but I understand the basic. I tried doing it myself, however I couldn’t figure it out.
Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.
hey , thanks a ton for these beautiful themes.. and esp for keeping them free
Hi I’m sorry to keep bothering you about this, but I was wondering is there a way I can change the way the image crops for the featured titles animator? Like with certain images it looks great, but then with others it either blows the image up to much. It also sometimes shows a really boring part of the image I post, so if I could edit that it would be perfect. If you could help me out with that that would be great thanks.
Ok. Figured out the WordPress 2.9.2 thumbnail size settings. No longer need Custom Fields, it seems. Now I have to figure out how to get all the images in my posts which are not in the Media Library, into the Media Library. And I’d still love a solution for the subdomain! Thanks…
i think timthumb support images from sub-domain, however, you should use the custom field features instead to point the image location directly to timthumb. as for the custom field, use image_value as value
Completely new question! Would you look at my rotating area? One of the panels contains some code on a black background. Where’d that come from? How can I get rid of it? Thanks…
the code is from your disqus plugin
Thanks…but I don’t know why it’s interfering with the featured area or how it got there. Any ideas? All I did was switch themes! Thanks…
kindly enabled it again so i can check
Okay, so I disabled Disqus and the problem is gone. But I’d like to use Disqus. Can you help me get it working with your theme? Thanks…
i will try to find a solution so kindly enabled it again so i can check
I’ve downloaded v1.2, installed and activated it. Haven’t touched the footer file (or any other file), but getting the “please do not edit footer credits” warning. Is there a more recent update I’m not seeing? (I checked your blog and didn’t see any recent Obscure updates.)
please check latest blog post. already posted a fix on this
I can’t make thumbnails working. Can you give me some help?
make sure you have the cache folder inside the theme folder, if so, then set file permission of both the cache folder and timthumb.php file.
see this tutorial: http://colorlabsproject.com/knowledgebase-tutorials/tutorial-timthumb-thumbnail-generation-with-arthemia-theme/
use image_value instead for the custom field
For some reasone, this theme has difficulty in rendering the home page rotation image and also the navigation mouse over effects in IE7 or IE8 in compatibility mode. Is there are simple way around this so it works OK in both IE7 and IE8? Great theme, I love it.
unfortunately, wpcrunchy do not support ie 6 to 7 as of now but it do look fine in IE8 ( not in compatibility mode )
