My featured posts (the 4 featured blog posts) showed up when I installed the theme…now they are gone…I can’t figure it out!

    • akosipau December 4, 2009 at 1:03 am | Permalink | Reply ¬

check if you have selected the right category for featured posts via theme option. for further questions go to support forum.

      • Cecily December 4, 2009 at 2:15 am | Permalink | Reply ¬

I have the correct Category selected…Meet The Hosts.

        • akosipau December 4, 2009 at 9:05 am | Permalink | Reply ¬

you site does not seems using my theme and so i cannot see where the problem is.

          • Cecily December 4, 2009 at 10:00 am | Permalink |

Sorry I changed it back. I’ve noticed a few other people’s site that use the theme and has the same project.

          • Cecily December 4, 2009 at 12:23 pm | Permalink |

I think I figured it out. The category I was linking to is called “Meet The Hosts” but uised the host slug. When I rename the category name to “Hosts” it worked.

So there must be an issue with category names longer than two words?

My ‘leave a comment’ links in the individual posts are not working, so no one can leave comments?!!!?!?! GAH, Help please…
example..so you can see what I mean: http://knowyourvote.ca/beta/659/ekos-poll-economy-tops-voters-christmas-wish-list/
Scroll to the bottom, and you wont be able to leave a comment…what do I do? am I missing something?

    Thanks!

The thumbnails on the right under popular are not matching what is in the article. Any fix for this?

    • akosipau December 5, 2009 at 9:40 pm | Permalink | Reply ¬

try this fix and get back to me if this problem not solve.

      open functions.php and find wp_popular_posts

change all $postid to $post->ID in this lines of code:

      < ?php if( get_post_meta( $postid, "image_value", true ) ) : ?>
      	&w=50&h=50&zc=1" border="0" alt="< ?php the_title(); ?>" />
      < ?php else : ?>
      	thumb
      < ?php endif; ?>

      • Douglas Porter December 6, 2009 at 1:04 pm | Permalink | Reply ¬

I noticed that if I manually add the image url into the post option field that it forces the thumbnail to work correctly. I will try the code change above and see if it fixes the thumbnails without manually adding the URL.

Thanks so much for all your help. I replaced the code in the function doc and I still have that weird unrelated thumbs. Actually it seems to be pulling from the photo in the main article…thoughts?

Hello! I’m using your theme, but I’m having problems with the images of the post, the function “timthumb.php. The images do not appear! I checked the file permissions to 777 and nothing.

And the file “timthumb.php” in line 15 is: “/ / HTML example: “. – But there is the “script” in the template directory.

    Also in line 383: “/ / / wp-content/themes/mimbopro/scripts/timthumb.php” – could be “wp-content/themes/newspress/timthumb.php.

In 2 cases I did not win! The address is “www.elliomendes.com.br / blog” would know what could be happening? I really enjoyed your theme and would like to use it.

    Take care and thank you!

    • akosipau December 9, 2009 at 8:20 pm | Permalink | Reply ¬

      hello raffab,

my themes comes with a cache folder which stores all resized images. please check the theme that your using if you have a cache folder, if there’s none, then make a folder named ‘cache’.

  7. Raffab December 9, 2009 at 9:05 pm | Permalink | Reply ¬

    Hello! Thanks for the reply!

But there is a folder “cache”, came with the download of the theme. Even now I chmod 777 on everything!

For steps: I downloaded and installed the theme, and since the early images of command “timthumb.php” do not appear. Even starting a new post and uploading an image to the post.

I really do not know what is happening. I’m not oblivious and I tried some possibilities.

Please, excluding the possibility of the lack of the “cache”, you have another suggestion to help?

Thank you very much! I would love to solve the problem, because the theme is perfect for what I need.

    • Duncan December 13, 2009 at 5:03 pm | Permalink | Reply ¬

Great theme thanks. Found that the image problem was resolved by chmod on the cache folder to 777 as well as on the file itself :)

      Thanks Again.

    hello to all!
i had problems with the timthumb, because the function php_uname()
is disabled by my provider. So all over my website were broken images.
I read the comment of @Jessica,
and added a @ in front of strtolower,
    it have to look like: $os = @strtolower(php_uname());
    now it works.
    Blessings,
    mikeu

NOTE: put it inside <body> tag

hey – really liking the theme, but quick (possibly stupid) question. Is there a way of inserting an image instead of an ad block in the banner space at the top?

Also, how did kyle harms (http://www.knowyourvote.ca) change it so that the tagline is below the main title and in a different color?

I’m super beginner with all this stuff, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

yes, you can do so via theme option found in your admin dashboard and about the tagline, you can customize in your header.php file
