cache folder inside the theme folder should not be remove in order the thumbnails to appear and also images you want to show as thumbnails must be uploaded in your wordpress not just a link to an image

    Hi, Thanks for your response.

The cache folder in the theme has not been deleted, the permissions on it are set to that everything can write to it. I have also uploaded the images using the “Add media to post” function in wordpress then just copy the link from that dialog to the “Image” text box for this theme.

Interestingly all the images that I upload are not appearing in the cache folder even after they've been set as the post's thumbnail image.

Do you think this is a permissions issue or some other conflict?

Hi again, I figured it out.
The theme was looking for the files in the wp-content/uploads directory which is not where they were being placed once inserted into the media library.

The MU installation doesn't have a simple way to change the default upload directory (which was not wp-content/uploads) so it must be done by editing the code.

    Thanks for your support!

i think the problem is the permission of the upload folder of your wordpress as timthumb script for thumbnails does not required files to be in wp-content

Great collection to choose from. I think the best ones use Twitter Blue and a birdie! More recognizable. Thanks!
