    hi guys!

i used to start my own blog with foliopress. first local testing works fine but i have some problems with the images: i used the post options with the instructions (add image -> paste url and so on). but there appears not a single image! the files are always dropped on the server in the dir: uploads/2009/9/

    could that be the error?!

    Hi
Your theme is perfect and I downloaded it to make some test but I didn’t find index.php and style.css ? Is it normal ?
Actually I use Arthemia but slowly it’s boring me…
Ok if you find the time to answer would be nice.

Thank you, the template is just brilliant. I have just one problem. I changed the logo in the wordpress admin panel but the top images and everything in the featured div has disappeared. I’ve reuploaded all the foliopress theme files but its made no difference, I considered deleting and reinstalling the theme but since I uploaded all the files again, I don’t think it’ll help?? I cleared the cache just in case but no change and I’ve checked the site on a different pc in case it was just mine, but again no difference. I’d welcome any suggestions you may have. Thank you in advance and thank you again for a great looking theme.

    I put in:
    http://www.hull2africa.co.uk/wp-content/themes/foliopress/images/h2a_logo.png
The logo works perfectly, its the featured news items bit that has disappeared so all thats at the top of the site is the logo and the blue background.

    HI
    I’ve got it. (index.php and style.css)
    I’ve a question : What about licence ?
It’s possible that I customize your theme for my purpose. (I’m a story teller, a wannabe writer if you prefer) Is it possible ?
If you let me a .pot, I’ll give you a french .mo. I’ve to do that job because the most of my readers are french.
Let me know and thank you for this wonderfull theme.
    Friendly
    Thierry

  14. Rachel October 19, 2009 at 8:36 am | Permalink | Reply ¬

In wordpress admin, I went into foliopress options and under sliding panel settings, I selected the category there.

try to redownload the theme and replace your current. it actually works fine here i dont know why its not working in your blog

I've just done that now and its made no difference. Is the gallery only javascript, or does it need something special on the server to run?

Hi, I've been looking everywhere online for a great theme which would suit my needs and I have to say yours is by far the best. I do have an issue with thumbs however:

I have 2 domains hosted on the same server. On the first domain (flixwyze) I have a standard wordpress installation and on the second (wyzepages) I have Wordpress MU installed. It is on the MU that I am attempting to use Foliopress.

The setting for the slideshow category is “Featured” and one of my posts is assigned to that category.
In that post the link in the Image text box is: http://wyzepages.com/files/2009/11/Andrea-Oriol... which works when entered directly in a browser.
I set the permissions to the “cache” folder as 777.

Unfortunately I am still unable to see any of the images in the slider or as thumbnails on the index page (I can insert images directly in the post though).

Could this be due to the MU version of Wordpress or because this is the second domain on the same server?

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!!

    The website is http://wyzepages.com

cache folder inside the theme folder should not be remove in order the thumbnails to appear and also images you want to show as thumbnails must be uploaded in your wordpress not just a link to an image

  20. marcousa November 6, 2009 at 5:53 am | Permalink | Reply ¬

    Hi, Thanks for your response.

The cache folder in the theme has not been deleted, the permissions on it are set to that everything can write to it. I have also uploaded the images using the “Add media to post” function in wordpress then just copy the link from that dialog to the “Image” text box for this theme.

Interestingly all the images that I upload are not appearing in the cache folder even after they've been set as the post's thumbnail image.

Do you think this is a permissions issue or some other conflict?

  21. marcousa November 6, 2009 at 7:59 am | Permalink | Reply ¬

Hi again, I figured it out.
The theme was looking for the files in the wp-content/uploads directory which is not where they were being placed once inserted into the media library.

The MU installation doesn't have a simple way to change the default upload directory (which was not wp-content/uploads) so it must be done by editing the code.

    Thanks for your support!

i think the problem is the permission of the upload folder of your wordpress as timthumb script for thumbnails does not required files to be in wp-content

Great collection to choose from. I think the best ones use Twitter Blue and a birdie! More recognizable. Thanks!

configure the theme first via theme option in your admin dashboard

p.s include your site url if you need theme support

    @ oliver

everything works fine in local and on web for me. did you upload the image or the image is from other site? it must be uploaded in your wordpress first then get the url of it then paste it on the post image option.

    hope that works.

  29. akosipau September 12, 2009 at 3:32 am | Permalink | Reply ¬

hm i see..if thats the case then maybe you did not include or probably deleted the cache folder of the theme. a folder named “cache” should be in your foliopress folder. if not, then create one.
